It can be a number of things...

The person will have a breakdown, anxiety, etc... the person might feel like they've flatlinned.... they aren't going anywhere....they aren't happy with their lives.. maybe they had higher expectations as to where they'd be at this stage of their life.. not happy finacially, with their spouse, not seeing their career developing....

Those are all fairly typical/common concepts of what a mid-life crisis are...

I doubt that anyone 19 can really understand it. I couldn't at 19.
