I use regular SVGA cable

It depends on the speed or the RAMDAC..but these days..I belive they are all at 350 MHz on GF series of cards....Any way.. it should be around about 100Hz at 1600...
Its unlikely its your video card...its the moniter...

The video card should easily be able to do 1600x1200 @ 85Hz. I had a monitor that refused to do 85Hz until I reinstalled the driver (monitor, not video card) a few times. Right click on your desktop and select properties. Then select settings ----> advanced ----> monitor. If the monitor is listed as plug and play monitor instead of the actual IBM model number, then try reinstalling the monitor drivers. Also, in the same window you might see an option that says "hide modes that this monitor cannot display". If that option is checked then uncheck it and see if that allows you to select 85Hz. Also, most recent monitors will display the resolution and refresh rate if you go to their on screen display. Check and see if the resolution and refresh rate are indeed what Windows says they are. My friend had a screwy video card that would say one refresh rate while the monitor was running at another.

Try disabling "Hide modes this monitor cannot display" - sometimes you may not have the right monitor inf file installed

The Annihilator 2 supports up to 2048x(whatever), so it should easily do 85Hz at 1600x1200.

Alternatively, try to find the right monitor inf file your your CRT...
