I cleaned out my old keyboard to find that hideous mess. Check yours, it probably looks similar.

Don't chuck out your keyboard just yet! I cleaned up everything with lots of gloves, paper towels, and Q-tips. Now everything is good to go![

dammit it's one thing when my dog uses my computer to surf for its porn and check its emails, but i hate it when it doesnt' clean up after itself!!

Eh I never really take the time to clean my keyboard, cause when you put the keys back they always act weird and fall out. BTW...thats gross lol.

haha i have a plastic "skin" on my keyboard because i always eat/drink at my desk and i'm constantly dropping crumbs and stuff. It saved my butt more than once when i knocked over a can of coke on it.

you can usually unscrew a couple of screws on the back and lift the keyboard out. most laptops provide access to upgrade RAM by removing the keyboard.

Unscrew the keyboard, remove the bottom half which usually contains all the electronics. Throw the top half in the dishwasher. Works great, been doing it for years.

Dang... I'm pretty sure mine probably looks like that considering I've never cleaned my keyboard... I guess I'll never find out 😛

That's not how mine is. I wish I knew how to undo the keyboard so I could clean it out.. I can feel stuff crunchining underneath.
