Don't take politicians at their words. Look only at actions.

Remember, the wall is more or less a symbol, a metaphor to describe a new way of thinking. A new approach to dealing with things.

To see the true walls, we need only look within ourselves. God bless President Donald Trump for making us realize this.

You can laugh but the elites use certain terminology for their various messages. Right now, the message is patriotism, nationalism and America first. Building walls aligns with that kind of message. Doesn't matter if its the physical wall or just an image implanted into the people's minds.

A wall is a very tangible thing. Not exactly a "shining city on a hill" in terms of metaphorical imagery.

The price of this ridiculous mexican jobs project is like 30% higher than NASA's annual budget. And yes, mexicans will be payed to build it; They already comprise a large part of the workforce building the border fences right now. Contractors don't want to pay $25/hr for american citizen construction workers just to build fences in the desert. And you can bet with Trump's total lack of oversight that these contractors aren't going to just "give up" the extra profit margin offered by using illegal labor. Mexicans will build the wall, and americans will pay them for it.

This would be a huge jobs project for mexico along with basically blowing 150% of NASA's budget on a useless wall of concrete visible from space. It will be a scar on this country and a monument to collective american stupidity.

"While no plan has been approved or finalized, DHS is currently working on recommendations that Secretary John Kelly will present to Trump.
President Trump has been looking at various blueprints with his advisers, a senior administration official told CNN. He could ultimately insist on a concrete wall stretching across the entire border, as he has promised. It would be a far bigger and a vastly more expensive project, and any plan would need to be sent to Congress for funding approval."

It's being worked on, he's been the President for less than a month.

I always thought an actual physical wall was silly and impractical. You don't need a physical wall to have a secure border. We have the technology and the means to secure the border, all we lack is the political will to do what needs to be done. That may have changed in November, we'll see.

I don't think Trump can completely walk away from his promise of a physical wall, so he'll build sections of wall, and then I assume the rest will be heavily monitored or patrolled. Perfectly secure? No way. Better than nothing? Yep.

You must be incredibly happy getting fucked by Trump's chode because morons like you will be paying for a useless wall. "I'm so glad billions of dollars of tax payers' money is not being spent productively, go Trump!"

My guess is an actual physical wall won't be built. At least not one that spans across the entire southern border as promised by the president. Immigration policy will be tightened up and that will be considered the wall.

A wall is not needed, but a real enforced border is. I'd prefer that it be done in a more financially sound manner than building a giant wall, but we very much need to regain control of our border.

What are you talking about? Trump has already built a Great Wall, an impossibly high wall that's all but impossible to scale...between himself and the truth.

The wall is just dog whistling to the faithful that it's acceptable to scapegoat lower status minorities again. There's no mystery why all the alt-right white nationalist are behind him all the way.
