What's going on?

Seriously, what is going on with the industry. Nvidia's 6800 PCI-E cards are short, ATi X800s where very hard to find and their new PCI-Express line up is non-exsistant. Nvidia's Nforce 4 is in a very short supply. What is going on with the manufactures? Why is it taking so long to deliver?
