What's going on with Milkyway@Home?

The data-driven web pages at the MW@H website have been down for a few days now. as a consequence i cannot view status of the servers. i also cannot connect to/upload to/download from the servers via the BOINC manager...so i think its safe to say that the entire project is down. does anyone know what exactly is going on? did the project crash, or is this is a scheduled outage? i don't know b/c the last time i was on the MW@H forums was days before this all happened...

Mw@H has had outages similar this one now and then - and then they come back as if nothing has happened.
BTW: no idea what is going on - but I'll check on some other sites ... BRB!

OK, here is some info ...

They are having cooling problems in the server room where the MW@H project servers are. Thus they have all been turned off.

thanks for doing some investigation for me. i didn't know where else to look except here and the MW@H forums...i even checked at the SETI and Einstein forums to see if anyone might have said something about there, but no luck. now i know i can check the BOINCstats forums for such info.

*EDIT* - i just realized that the info you found on the BOINCstats forums references a thread on the S@H forums...it must have been posted after a had a look there...

*EDIT #2* - for those interested in following the status of the MW@H project, i found that status thread over at SETI@Home forums: CLICK HERE. i would imagine they'll post the updates in that thread from time to time.

MW@H is back up. expect some intermittent down times throughout the week though as RPI tries to fix the cooling issues. the word is that the outages should stop by the end of the week or thereabouts.
