I've been gone for quite some time and only recently started cracking again (for tacube)... I noticed that DPC is kicking some butt... I remember we were number one for a while... just wondering what happned. Anyway, we need to start hammering those cows...

They passed us a while ago and now we're fighting to get back in to first place. We just barely beat them to 600 million blocks (only by a few hours I believe), then they took the lead and have been ahead of us since then.
 
They've had the lead since: January 17th, 2001

The lead will change hands again. 😛
 
I think it is because certain people went away for "quite some time". 😉

man this sux! we wont be able to pass them until we at least have a greater rate of cracking than theirs, we wont be able to reach them... ever! they have like almost 2x the number of members... we gotta do something about that
 
whatever happened to the big recruiting push? I remember back in the day (like it was that long ago...) when Paulson and others would come into GH screaming about rc5 and the DPC's... hell thats what got me started at first...
 
Just a thought, why don't we try to get some of the lower performing teams to join with us. I'm sure that there are a bunch of teams in the 200-300 place position that would love to shoot up to 2nd place overnight. It wouldn't hurt to ask them. Resistance .... well, you know.
 
dANt3R - good idea. Been there, tried that, but I suppose there's no harm in trying again. There tends to be a reason though, why one joins a team (loyalty to a website, etc), and to join forces with a different team, even if it is a "winning team"....it doesn't always play well with everyone involved. If there are teams which would like to, I'm all for it, I'm just saying it might be tough to find a whole team willing to do so.
 
some sites have teams the size of one of our smaller mini teams , they might be interested in forming a mini team with the websites name as the mini team , so lets say they are like team 1000 on the list if they join us they could be one of the top mini teams and on 2 highest team over all... they might go for that ..... or steal thier women , kick em in the shin and run

It would be good to get someone to draft up an &quot;invitation&quot; that we could distribute to the other teams. Since I am just a drone I doubt I could perform that function. 😀
 
Well, DPC had a major grow rate.

Now that we have catched up with TA and passed the 1 billion blocks, more and more people start to change project. So the RC5-64 should be more competetive in the near future....
I think it's to bad our incredible keyrate is dropping now, before the project is over, although it would bring some excitement back into RC5-64...

As far as assimilating smaller teams, some DPCs asked it to smaller teams a while back (for instance #koffieteam) to join us to kick /. and TA ass.😉 The answer we got isn't suitable for this Forum.. 🙂
And they where right. It's not very sportsman like to ask smaller teams, you insult them in a way by asking.
What if France came to the Netherlands and asked if we would join them, since they're bigger, and a small country like the Netherlands hasn't got a change of winning anyway. Well, we'll kick them their French asses out with our wooden shoes..... 😛

Well at least that's my opinion. 🙂

Glad you don't see my post as a 'possible diversion' of a competitor who tries to keep you from assimilating....
But it can be compared to us DPCs barging in on this forum and yellin' we're the best, resistance is futile etc.

On the other hand, if the small teams come to you and ask if they can join.... 😛
That would be really cool, because then, they see for them selves that resistance IS futile....
(of course the last example only works for the DPC 😉)
 
well it be like canada and the us , canada was small and weak so they hid behind america so that no one would mess with them

DarkHelmet, I agree to a point. I think it really depends on how you approach them with it. If you come in and say, &quot;look, you're getting your a$$ kicked anyway, so make yourself useful and join us&quot; of course you are going to get 100% of the people to slam the door in your face. I think the best way is just to say, &quot;we've got a great team and we have a lot of fun. We'd like you to know that the door is always open and you are more than welcome to join our team if you would like.&quot; Or something along those lines. I think a lot of people would be curious and maybe even curious enough to join.

Darkhelmet- hey I dont mind DPC coming in here... it does show you that DPC respects us enough to come and take a look at what we're doing 😉. Anywho, I respect your opinions and I think that the competition between DPC/TA is a good one... nice, clean, and fun (now I've been away a bit so I may be talking out of my a$$).
