<< AN EXPLOSION rocked a cafe in Jerusalem, killing nine and wounding 35. The blast occurred near the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who was not there at the time, Reuters reported.
This happened an hour after suspected Palestinian gunmen opened fire in the Israeli town of Netanya, killing one Israeli and wounding 49 people, Israeli police said. That attack took place after Israeli aircraft fired at least five missiles at targets around the complex containing Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat¡¦s headquarters in Gaza City.
NBC News reported that nine of those shot on a crowded boardwalk in Netanya were seriously hurt. David Bender, a reporter for the Jerusalem Post speaking on MSNBC TV, reported that three attackers had been killed, but that authorities were searching for a possible fourth gunman, who was thought to have run into a nearby hotel. MSNBC reported that one of the gunmen was dressed like an Israeli military officer.

Would you care to speculate as to why Sharon was elected after the very moderate Baraq. Would you like to explain why the Baraq plan for peace was forceably and completely rejected by the Palestinians?

Now would you like to try again on which side wanted peace and has been rebuffed?

etech,
If I may quote my other thread

<< The broader thinking behind Israel's military escalation was unveiled this week by Mr Sharon, who said Israel must kill ever larger numbers of Palestinians until they submit. >>

Thats what is going on and the Palestininian people dont want to submit to an occupying force.

And this "revange" is no surpise after the last 24 hours of Israli "ravange" resulting in over 40 Palestinians dead.

<< Revange for Revange is whats going on. >>

<< And this "revange" is no surpise after the last 24 hours of Israli "ravange" resulting in over 40 Palestinians dead. >>

Is "revange" a special type of "revenge?"

more like a big typo 😛

Unfortunately etech, it no longer matters who wanted peace. Except to us armchair warriors. What I am afraid this means is an escalation beyond any peaceful solution. I hope I am wrong.

Have US withdraw aid from Israel. Have the Israelis get desperate and pop a tac-nuke in Ramallah. The Arabs will band together to kick the crap out of the Israelis, and then we'll be rid of both the Palestinians and the Israelis.

Then the US can call those Arab countries 'axis of evil' and kick the crap out of them.

Then we'll be rid of all of them, won't we? Hahahahaha...

Yes I know it's silly, thanks.

When Sharon says nothing can proceed unless there is X amount of time without any violence, he knows that will never happen.
Therefor he looks like the good guy; but he is no more sincere than the radical Palistenians are about wanting peaceful co-existance.

If the Palestinians would quit the terrorist attacks than Israel would not be able to retaliate. The U.S. would pull it?s support in a heartbeat if the Israelis attacked without justification.

If Israel quit retaliating, does anyone here think that would stop the Palestinian attacks.

I didn't think so.

What needs to be done is Israel withdraws completely from Palestine land, Palestine independant and buffer zones created on the border patroled by International peacekeeping forces.
And I highly doubt the US would stop supporting Israel if they attacked anyone, that news report few days ago of 120 Israeli spies working in the US supports that.

But what exactly is Palestinian land? There has never ever been a Palestinian state or nation.

And, yeah, Czar, we're Israel's bitch.

silly yet Logical.

There was a Philistine in the Hebrew Scriptures...

Czar, typical of your idealistic solutions. It sounds good but ignores reality.

The Israelis have not been able to stop all of the suicide terrorists. What makes you think a UN force would be able to do any better. The Israelis would still be hit. The UN force would be able to keep the Israelis from retaliating. It would be a field day for the Palestinians.

There is also the problem of history. Before the 67 war Egypt asked for the withdrawal of the UN peace observers. They left in haste. Israel has no reason to trust the UN as far as its safety is concerned.

The Land originaly agreed to when Israel was formed.

etech,
What do you think bugs the Palestinians the most? the occupation, not Israel being there, its frustration built up from generations living in refugee camps, of being 2nd grade people.

The US and the EU are going to officialy demand together tomorrow that Israel withdraws from the Palestininan lands. I guess you are one of the very few that supports the oppression of millions of people.

The Israelis are innocent victims of the dumbfounded acts by their own government in attacking and killing thousands of innocent Palestinians without justification.

I do not condone terrorist acts, but the attacks on innocent Palestinians by the Israelis are equivalent to terrorist acts in my book. The Israelis should be considered terrorists as well. Palestinian suicide bombers wearing nail bombs are matched by Israeli gunships loaded with rockets. What they have done is incite violence against themselves. What else can you expect after going through Palestinian refugee camps, breaking into people's houses, displacing everyone, and leaving a path of blood. The Israeli government are hypocrites. They demand an end in suicide terrorist attacks against them, but how can you expect anything else when they go into palestinian territory without regard for anyone and attacking at their will?

If Mexico decide to attack the US, and invaded Texas, do you think we'll just stand aside while they kill innocent Texans?

I really hope the Israeli government change their policy of attack against the Palestinians for the safety of their own people, otherwise, I see no end to this bloody massacre.

Heifetz
