What's going on here? Mobo dying?

Ok.... all of a sudden my brothers monitor started displaying the "no signal" message on the screen..... so I immeditialy thought the video card had died; he doesn't play many games lately so he just went & bought the cheapest card he could find at our local store (Radeon 95550 AGP).... put that card in & powered up & it powered on ok.. but it didn't boot up at all..... made sure the card was inserted properly & tried again.... no luck.

Thought maybe they gave him a faulty card..... so I took the video card out of my machine & tried it in his..... it boots up ok; but still the same "no signal" message displayed on the monitor???

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Yes, reset CMOS via motherboard jumper.

Make sure you follow motherboard manufactureres instructions to the letter.

Before you do this go into the BIOS and write down all of the current parameters, so you can make sure they are set back to the proper parameters when you initially boot the machine after resetting CMOS.

Good luck.

If you tried it in another computer and got the same message then the card is bad.
I just got another card back from BFG because it had the same problem. I have a new card now with no problems. My advice is to rma the card
