What's fun to do in Myrtle Beach for a day trip (besides the actual beach).

NFS4

No Lifer
I'm going with the GF down to her grandparent's beach house in Holden Beach, NC tomorrow. We're planning on driving down to Myrtle (about 30 mins away) on Saturday to go spend the day.

What's cool down there. Are there any places we should check out or something that would hold our interest all day long (besides a hotel room😉).

The Hard Rock Cafe down there is interesting. If you are a golfer they have some beautiful courses.

You could go to one of those all you can eat seafood joints and stuff your face with crab legs. 🙂

If you play golf, there are tons of great courses, otherwise, there's really not much. I think there was a really cool go-kart place.

Hmmm, go-karting!! Now that's my kind of thing. Don't know if she's up for that, but if I'm paying she won't mind 😀

Is there any parasailing down there?

I did some parasailing down in the Bahamas about 6 years ago. Man that was fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun 😀

I used to live in North MB.
MB is the golf capital of the world (not just in name either.)
There's a LOT of shopping.
Medieval Times is OK, kind of kiddy though.
There's some kickass arcades, but I'm warning you, stay away from the owners.
Myrtle Waves is good, there's some other good water parks too, but myrtle waves is the best of them.
There's an amusement park on the far north end of nmb too, but the name escapes me.

I live right outside of MB. Check out the Pavilion amusement parkon the boulevard, and then at night you could cruise the boulevard and check out all the people. Colonial mall is awesome, too.

Ripley's Believe it or not/Aquarium is good for about 2-3 hours each.

You can drive around and count how many "Wings" "Eagles" and "Pacific" gift shops you see. It's funny, because it's clear they are owned/operated by the same people, and there will be 3 or 4 of them right next to each other. All they are a novelty shops about the size of the average backyard.

Edit: Oh yeah! Have an omlette at the Omega Omlette house for me! They're the best!

Sea Food, Go-Karting, and tons and tons of Mini Golf, there is also the house of blues, very nice place, to go

Yeah, I've been to the House of Blues...beach grad in '98. I don't remember much from that week😉

You have a GF? Congrat!

If it was a guy thing, I'd say go play golf and hit the strip joints.

Edit: Now I know why you lost your post lead.

Yeah, spending time with the GF is more important that posting crap here on the forums...at least to me it is🙂

Ok this is not in MB but it is close. Go at night to dillon SC and drive around their square with about 100 other cars all night long.
But on a real note, I heard of a food place called "Dicks" (i think is the name, not for sure) but i heard it is a very unusual experienc. They do nothing but insult people the whole time. I heard it was fun (i guess in a weird way its interesting).

NEVER again. I remember doing the "strip" in MB when we were last there. What a total waste of my time to be driving at 1 MPH for 3 straight hours.

I absolutely HATE traffic jams...they're even worse when you're listening to loud, crappy music, and surrounded by a bunch of drunken idiots 😀
