I'm thinking about getting some lo mein delivered. This place is pretty bland (it is the midwest after all), but it's the only thing that sounds good right now. What's on your plate?

Just had a big bowl of tater tots with tabasco :^D

I rediscovered them a couple weeks ago, and they're amazing. I've had them before, but I'm not sure I ever bought any of my own. I'll probably get one more bag before I put them down for awhile, but I've enjoyed having them around.

I bought lunch out at work, and ate some of the lunch I took on the way home, so I wasn't that hungry tonight.

Hmmm. I haven't had Potato Olés in quite a while. Might have to have the same for dinner tonight. Along with one or two Taco Bravos, of course.

I ended up going with a Singapore Mai Fun and Chicken Lo Mein (they expertly set their prices so that you basically have to order two dishes to get over the delivery threshold). Both extra spicy. We shall see. If it's still too bland, I'll have to bust the Chinese dictionary for "dangerously spicy".

Smoked chicken leg quarter with white rice, baked beans, and coleslaw. For dessert, chocolate turtle cheesecake with scoop of vanilla ice cream and hot fudge.

Left overs. My wife cooked a ham last night with a side of mashed potatoes and a veggie tray.
So tonight on my way home from work I stopped and picked up a couple loaves of bread from our local italian restaurant.
We made hot ham and cheese sandwiches, reheated the potatoes, deep fried some fries and cheese sticks, then topped it off with the rest of the veggie tray. It was really good.

Fried rice with pulled chicken. Fried bean curd with pickled tuber mustard. Stir fried lettuce.

Decided to go a different direction... rotisserie chicken, potato salad and a green salad. Four Roses for desert.

I fried up hamburgers topped with a nice bun sized tomato, onion ring, lettuce and mustard.

OP, you're lucky you didn't have an Asian cuisine taste on Saturday. It was Chinese New Year and the place more than likely would have been closed. :)

I cooked up one of these last night for the family:
974d6428-714b-42db-b260-3f83d93df946_1.9fc276f20a312cfac13a3b3b072b8906.jpeg

I love these things because they're super cheap, like $3.26/lb at Walmart, just put them in an aluminum foil shell and bake for an hour or so...very tender, tasty, and easy. Added some homemade au gratin potatoes and broccoli.

Tonight the kids get leftovers. I cook thrice per week and only thrice.

I had zing wings from the Jewel. More or less mild fire chicken. I believe its actually from a phoenix and not a chicken.

Lemon marinated chicken breast w/ sweet potatoes and steamed vegetables. Easy, healthy, delicious.

Funny, I'm having lo mein. Made a batch on Saturday and have enough left over.

If your local take out is bland, stop whining about it and learn to cook. Lo Mein is easy. Or at least get yourself a bottle of soy sauce, oyster sauce and sesame oil, toss in a little garlic and ginger too and you can make even shitty take-out taste great.

Made a salad. Not much to it. Spring mix, tomato, olives, stuffed grape leaves, feta cheese, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and black pepper. I might make a veggie burger later if I get hungry.

I just moved and my stuff had just arrived that day, so it was still all packed up.

Last night I made from scratch wild mushroom risotto and scallops (first time for both). Turned out really good. Wife was very skeptical because she doesn't like mushrooms and is very picky about scallops, but she loved it.

Tonight is italian beef
