I made some rice with garlic and steamed broccoli to go with the steak. I rubbed some fresh garlic into the meat and some fresh ground salt and pepper to season then cooked it with a little butter in a cast iron skillet over high heat on the grill until it was medium rare.

The cut of meat is choice cut and fresh center cut beef tenderloin. It is the shit.

Pic of my dinner. :D

Do you normally stop in the middle of dinner to take pictures? :)

Seriously, though, looks good. I like a little more char and a bit more on the rare side, but the cut looks well marbled and probably as tasty as a filet gets.

I give it 8/10, only because I prefer more difficult cuts to tenderloin.

That's medium, I'd say too. Nothing wrong w/ medium, though. From the pic it looks like JM let it properly rest before cutting.

Damn. I only aspire to cooking for myself as well as you did tonight. Well played, sir.

diced up some boneless chicken breasts and cooked them in the frying pan with some tomatoes, green peppers, cumin, hot sauce, and a little bit of butter.

made burritos out of it, with jack/cheddar cheese, lettuce, and rice.

Looks tasty.

Buying a whole tenderloin & cleaning it yourself will leave you with a good amount of choice/select leftover for future dinners at a good price ratio. :) It can be a little bit of a pain though.

That was right at the edge, it was a darker red in the middle.
