You know what is really good? This stuff called steel reserve. It comes in a 24oz can and is 8.1% alcohol. It's good stuff if you just want to get intoxicated as quickly as possible.

also trying to drink my way thru the menu at the local "ale house" ... Croxley Ale House in New Hyde Park, NY... they have 70+ different beers on tap..... also my friends got me addicted to BABY GUINESS...

Baby guiness' are soooo good. its a shot. you pour 2/3 of the shot glass with Kahlua and then put a spoon just above the top of the Kahlua upside down and pour bailey's irish cream over it. it looks like a guiness, only smaller, and tastier, like chocolate milk going down, yum.

In order of preference...

Guinness
Kronenburg 1664
Avalanche
Shiner Bock
Beck's
Corona Extra (w/ a lime... none better when you're eating mexican food!!!)
Heineken
Carta Blanca (ok, maybe this one for a tie with mexican food)
Fat Tire

I refuse to drink mainstream domestic beers. :disgust:

I just got back from a two week Europe tour about a week ago- my friend had a Strongbow and a Euro-Bud over there and shares your opinion (thought the latter was interesting myself). I was too addicted to Kronenburg 1664 and Guinness to try anything else... mm mm good! :p

My thoughts were exactly the same- I'm proud to say I never drank a beer until I turned 21 last February. I thought I was just going to be a wine person (kinda am still), but then I found out that beer can be tasty if you find the GOOD stuff. Stay away from all the mainstream domestic stuff whenever you turn 21 and I think you'll be impressed. It's fun to try a new brew every couple weeks when you can afford it. I only drink casually. Check out my list a few posts up to see a list of good recommendations (IMO)- my first one was a Heineken.

The American stuff tastes like piss

Hey now, Shinerbock and Dergy's are american beers. They just do it right as oppossed to most name brand beers.

I like a lot of them so I will list a few.

Beck's Dark/Light/Regular/Oktoberfest
Paul Aner Original
Dergy's Honey Blonde and Amber Ale
Spaten Oktoberfest and Optimator
Sol
Shinerbock

YES! Someone else has heard of the great virtue that is Shiner Bock. I don't consider it an American beer- it's a TEXAS beer. Tastes more German than it does American too (that's its heritage anyway). I agree with her209 on the mainstream beers- I had a sip of a friend's Natural Light this evening... no comment.
