I've had this one for a while.
http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Norelc...s=philips+7300

I used to have a Philips Norelco QT4050 ($39 @ Amazon). I preferred this one because it trimmed more evenly, but I like the digital read out on the length. It just takes quite a few swipes to knock down the thick stubble to get it even.

I need to specify that I got both of those trimmers for $25 or less through promotions from Amazon or Drugstore.com.
Use the same one.

i got a set that had the big clippers for head hair and a small one for beard. Think i paid $69 or so for it. it works great.

but then my beard or head hair is not very thick.

I'm using a £30 Phillips beard trimmer that I've had for 11 years, still going strong and no complaints.

I use the Andis BRG+ I have the cordless one. Way overkill but the best you'll find, With the 3 guards I bought I paid about $300 shipped. I'll never need another set of clipper in my life though. The corded model's about $100 cheaper

Epilators don't give designer stubble. Although, I'm sure it would be great for other areas where you want no hair, if you're a real man, that is. =)

I used to epilate everywhere except my face, but I've gotten/getting laser everywhere that matters and I've gone nuclear as far as laser/electrolysis goes on my face. I couldn't do my face with an epilator though. My hair was too coarse and thick and I couldn't grow it out enough for the thing to catch it well enough to pull the hairs out; it'd get a few, but no where near enough to make a difference.
