What's easier? Stats or Algebra?

hmm. I still expect algebra is easiest. will it do you any good? AP stat is 10th grade honors math here, calculus is 12th.. I don't think that's because statistics is necessarily easier than calculus, I think it's because they wanted calculus to be what they go into college with and they ran out of maths so they stuck statistics in to fill up the years (my kids jumped out of honors math for 10th grade and took discrete.. AP stats in 10th grade just seems kind of silly).

but.. depending on what you're going to study in college, you may never need college algebra.. you might as well take something that'll actually be useful..

I'd say I had an easier time in AP Calc in high school than I had in ADVANCED stats in college, but intro to stats in college was easy. Then again, intro to stats didn't do anything to prepare me for advanced stats. Advanced stats was harder for me because I had to memorize proofs and procedures and crap... With Calc it was more a matter of understanding the material. In calc I never had to do the homework to get As, in advanced stats I learned pretty quickly that I needed to do the homework to learn the stuff.
