what's E-sata?

True eSATA has a different connector (the tongue inside the female is straight) which allows for better shielding and the chips can source higher currents to allow for longer cables. Lots of mobo makers just use the standard SATA connectors (hooked tongue) which are more like SATA extension cables, so you would want to keep the total cable length from mobo to drive as short as possible (I think 1 meter is max length spec for standard SATA while true eSATA extends that to two meters).
