What's currently the best FPS online game?

UT3 with the latest patch is absolutely unreal. The problem is a lack of players. There's a large modding/mapping community though. Everyone go buy UT3 right now. It's like $10 or $20!

I have to agree with vivi. I need to add you to my friends list vivi. do you scrim? i'm just looking for a fun team to fool around with. i'm not to serious about it as i was 8 years ago but I still have a ton of fun with the game.

Crysis: Warhead is pretty good, only downside is limited game modes (I only play Team Instant Action).

Other than that, it would be CoD4. Not a big fan of TF2.

What's the best FPS game for FFA/deathmatch nowadays? Just the older stuff, ala Quake 2/3, or what else is great? Every man for himself, FFA insanity.

How is a multiplayer FPS "easy"? You're playing against people, and if you're new to the game, those people are gonna ram you up your ass.

Enemy Territory still gets my vote for the best. I hope the new Wolfenstein game sticks to the same multiplayer formula. Quake Wars sucked ass.

Battlefield 2. I also play some TF2 a lot but if you want a game where a commander or squad leader can really make the difference, BF2 is about the best one.

I used to play BF2 a lot but moved on to TF2. TF2 is fun, especially when you move away from the n00b classes like Demo. COD4 is just a nade spam fest. I got sick of it fairly quickly. I still also play UT2k4 from time to time as it is still extremely fun. For some reason I don't play CS1.6 or CS:S any more. I don't know why as I used to play 1.6 competitively. Maybe cus I got older and can't stand to wait any more. Hmm I don't know.

Im suprised nobody mentioned HL 2 DM i find it very entertaining i wouldn't say its the best but it definately has a great replay value to it, got to love the instant killing crossbow, the rpg noobs, the maniacs with the crowbar and flushing people with the gravity gun!


Far Cry was my favorite fps and multi for that matter the enviornments just make it really enjoyable, Crysis whle having similar traits i do not like as much, snipers seems to pose more of a problem but the standard maps for online play are mainly the culprit
