I tried some Turkey Pumpkin chili (meat & beans, Yankee-style baby!) the other day at Whole Foods (which was actually pretty good) and lo & behold, the recipe is on their website:

http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipe/turkey-pumpkin-chili

It was tasty, but a bit bland, so I'm giving it a shot tonight & doctoring it up a bit. Per the comments, I added some apple cider vinegar. I'm also using ground beef instead of ground turkey to see if that helps boost the flavor up. The nice thing is that it only takes about 30 minutes, so you're not stuck waiting for a crockpot to finish if you want to eat food ASAP. We'll see how it turns out!

What's on your plate tonight?

Update: It was pretty good. I added another can of beans. I didn't have any fresh chilis on-hand, so I used some ancho & chili powder, as well as some soy sauce & fish sauce to punch it up a bit. This would be really good on a chilidog...

It was actually pretty good with the ground turkey in it. I've also been working on ground chicken chilis. Going to try a white-bean shredded-chicken chili next week.

Also been working on meatloaves...anything I can freeze for my make-ahead meals

remember a few years ago my neighbour decided to do the crock pot thing like I was doing..damn copycat. She put in raw turkey in the crockpot for her chili. What a disaster that was.

Quick and easy meatball subs. Frozen meatballs in a saucepan with bbq sauce. Heat, stir, throw on a bun with a slice of provolone. Who needs a McRib, pfthh.

My wife is making homemade pizza. Right now the dough is being kneaded in the Kitchen Aid. Shes got the toppings cut and the cheese grated so it should be ready to go into the oven in a few minutes.

Breakfast for dinner tonight. Kids and wife had pancakes and bacon. I had a 2 egg white omelette with some ham, onions and provolone. Sided with some raspberries and a little yogurt.

Just had 6 pounds of grilled galbi (marinated beef short ribs), rice, lettuce wraps, and dozen king crab legs. That's about $170 for dinner cooked at home. It was worth every penny.

It has been an uphill battle to introduce my northern friends to the concept of Chicken & Waffles, but I have won every battle thus far
