Whats comparable to a AGP 6800 GT but with SLI?

Originaly I was thinking about getting an AGP set up for a new computer I plan to build, but SLI will allow for more upgrading down the road. What is a Comparable card to the AGP 6800GT but with SLI capibility? I only plan to buy one card now, and then get another when they go on the cheap.

Consider a $300 X800XL, too. No, I don't think you'll be able to SLI down the road, but it's $100 cheaper than a 6800GT, and that's a $100 head start on a new card down the road. I'm not sure a 6800GT will go "on the cheap"--meaning, less than $250--for a while, though I may be wrong.
 
You know pcie boards have pcie x1 in addition to the x16. What are these for? Is everything expected to turn pcie soon? Like sound cards, etc.?
