What's better? WIDE OR 4:3 LCD MONITOR?

Mainly I use monitor to watch TV(air), surf the net, but no games.

Never tried wide screen so... dunno if i really need a wide screen.(might give a shot becuase i'm upgrade my monitor)

i have samsung syncmaster cx711t (i believe its 5:4 aka 1280x1024)..and what do you guys think about 4:3 lcd monitor and 16:9 wide screen monitor?

(considering to buy a dell 20.1 wide or 21" 4:3 monitor)..

My laptop has a 16:10 widescreen (1280x800) and I love it. I also have a 21" 4:3 monitor (1600x1200) on my desktop and I love it too, but for lower resolutions I'd definately try to go widescreen.

I had a great 4:3 CRT, but now I own a 1920x1200 laptop and a 1680x1050 2005fpw and can't stand looking at a 4:3 screen anymore.

after using my 2005fpw @ 1680x1050, i absolutely cant stand 4:3 anymore. it just feels so....tight.
