WHATS BETTER? NIC OR USB CABLE INTERNET?

NIC

USB sucks CPU power, and drivers can be a Biat@h

Plus you cant use a DSL router with a USB only cable modem

USB DEfinately😛 just kidding Man use a card. Dlink is cheap and I dont notice any difference between it and other cards. (for cable modems ie} I have had some problems with the netgear fa-311 though

Well USB maxes at 12mbps, which is shared. So 10baseT would suck nearly all of USB so if you have any other devices, you probably won't even get your full 10bT, plus USB uses cycles. A USB NIC also has none of the features of a PCI NIC Card...plus toss in an extra $5 and you can get 100mbps PCI NICs...then if you ever use it for a LAN you have decent speed. Believe me...transferring a CD image to another computer on your network sucks if you only have 10baseT...

As I'm sure you've seen by the landslide vote it's not a tough call.

Just like to point out, that my PII 400 is 95% idle while buring a CD via my USB burner at 4x.

USB devices dont always use alot of CPU power.

I wish my handle was NIC, so I could say "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU PEOPLE WANT ALREADY!"

Guess I'll just have to come up with super common computer device that has the acronym of Topochicho... hhhmmmmm... maybe just Topo.

Uh, what if you factor in that I can get a free usb nic from my cable company?

Kidding. Is there a use for this usb thing though?
