whats better gtx 460 or the 540gt

whats better for an internal graphics cards the gtx 460 or the 540gt. I think it would be the 540gt but what do i know lol. and whats the process of chanaging a dedicated graphics card in a laptop. is it easy or is it something that i couldnt do

I would say 460 but the 1GB version.

It is important not to forget the m in the model number. As far as the 460m and the 540m are concerned, the 460m is the faster of the two. The 500m series seemed to focus more on lowering the power draw. The 460m probably compares to like a 8800 ultra.

A very small amount of laptops have a removable and upgradable gpu. Chances are the one he's talking about doesn't.

Yes if it is something like a GTX 485m SLI chances are it IS replaceable, however something like a GT 540m isnt usually going to be replaceable.
