Share your opinion. I like NVIDIA but ATI has the lead. I'm still gonna get an NVIDIA 5900SE tho cause it does better on JKJA, which I have.
I currently own a GF 2 GTS/Pro

Ooohooo you might as well have said "hey, let's start a flame war, guys!"

ATI because it's usually better bang for the buck. =D

It's taken me a few weeks to decide. I originally was gonna get a ATI 9600XT, but research on Anand convinced me otherwise. Then I was gonna get a 5700u, then a 5900nu, then finally i decided on a 5900SE

Nvidia for Doom 3, ATI for Half-Life 2.

P.S.- Doesn't really matter it's now more a matter of preference.

I might go back after the NV40 but I've not been impressed with the half dozen FX59xx cards I've installed on clients rigs.

eeeeek, *runs for the exit*

this is kinda like asking, "What's better Ford or GM?" in a car forum.

DUMB THREAD, USE GOOGLE AND READ UP ON THE STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES OF EITHER CARD AND DONT BE SO FRICKING LAZY.

EDIT - Someone might as well get this thread locked, it's just going to lead to a series of dumb and childish arguments from people like Rollo, then degenerate into petty name-calling. Meh...

You suck, and your mother is a mule :p (might as well get it started)

Go for whatever fits your budget and performs best in the games you will want to play.
5900SE's do seem to be a pretty sweet deal at the moment though.

hey, nothing like a nice healthy discussion now and then :p heh

personally, right now i'd say ati, but yes, that is just *my* preference.

lackcash has the right idea though, i see too many people on here saying "what's the best this and that right now???" instead of finding the product that shows the best results for their specific use. so since he likes jkja, and it runs better on the 5900se, then it makes sense to me.

brand preferences aside... a good deal is always a good deal to me. sometimes value overcomes preferences :p

Why do you think I posted the thread?

It all depends on what games you play (if that is what you are buying your video card for).
Either one makes cards that are fine for any game that is out today.

It appears to me LackCash?s sole reason for posting this thread is another excuse to pimp the 5900SE again. Is that all you joined Anantech for LackCash ????? ? to pimp the 5900SE--- because it sure seems that way. I mean that?s all you?ve done here since joining besides a couple of pointless threads. Gosh, I?m already thinking of asking you whether Nvidia hired you to promote the good news of the 5900SE?

And if you want to support a company that cheats/lies and tries to deceive the public -- go ahead. I sure don?t think it?s a good idea to support the scoundrels at Nvidia until they clean up their act.

No need to get nasty , didn't you read my 2nd post on this. I was going to originally get the ATI 9600 XT. It has taken me several weeks of research to decide on the 5900SE. I know that they are about the same but the NVIDIA does better on the games I like. Before flaming read the entire post!! :disgust:

I have both ATI 9800XT & a FX5950 Ultra (BFG)... I Like the 5950 better all around myself, including many clients I have also used this card for, each have loved there systems & the video performance etc...
