So how big was that puppy before her surgery?
I bet she will eat more if you feed her some yummy table scraps. :p

j/k :)

I hope your symptoms decrease and you are back to normal soon.

EDIT: I cannot tell if you are talking about the puppy or yourself ... :(

Hi everyone.

First, I'm sorry I haven't updated, but I this is the first time I've been online in a few days. (Unfortunately, no, this wasn't an early April Fool's joke. I wouldn't do something like that.)

Second, the update:

I had to go to the ER for the third time in about a week on Friday. (I think it was Friday.) They still basically won't do anything. I'm getting so frustrated (not to mention weak) with it all. I contacted my original doc's office in Virginia this morning. (I haven't been sleeping well and woke up early again.) The nurse gave me a couple of other ideas of places to call so I'm going to be doing some research. When I was at the ER, the person I saw also suggested contacting universities to see if they could/would help me because they're usually wanting people with exotic-sounding illness. (Or something like that) I'm going to be calling surgeon's/vascular surgeon's offices a little later today after they open.

As for why I'm not eating, it's because of the pain in my stomach. (I've been eating applesauce pretty well, though.) When I eat, my stomach cramps up horribly and I get really really nauseous. I haven't thrown up, thank God, I HATE that!! lol

Please continue to keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I appreciate all the encouragement.

What does the ER do to help you?

Er's are there for a quick fix, and aren't meant to cope long term with a problem.

Did you get the results of the CT?

Have you tried experimenting with easy to digest foods (other than applesauce) to see what you might be able to eat? Have you tried cutting out dairy?

Heather, maybe you are expecting results too soon. You look beautiful, but please stop trying to rush the process. My uncle did the same thing. There are steps to your new life....please follow them.

Go back to the basics. Although your weight was lost, you now have other issues to deal with. Nobody here is qualified to help you, but you must get back to the basics of adjustment, which is one day at a time.

we all love you around here. Do not become a pain-killer freak, like my uncle.

Eek, poor thing. :( Starving is not fun. You should get yourself some Ensure to supplement the regular foods you can get down, the Plus variety is a calorie bomb meant for situations like yours. I'm suprised the medical personnel you've seen haven't recommended you get some as a temporary band-aid for the problem. Hope it helps buy you some time and energy for fighting the medical est. and insurance red tape. Jerks. :|

Jesus dude, you're entitled to your opinion here like everyone elses, but there's a time and place for everything, and right now you just don't belong here.

What's wrong with my comment? I just don't like the look of the dog.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

Definitely get a case of the meal replacement shakes and force yourself to sip them all day long. Applesauce is not going to help much. It pretty much only has fiber and some fruit sugars, while meal replacement shakes have nutrients and calories in the correct balance for people who cannot eat anything else.

That's actually what they usually start people out on after gastric bypass surgery. I'm surprised she's not already drinking them. Maybe she had so much of it 2 years ago that she can't stand the thought of drinking more.
