What's bad with a supercharger on an old car?

There can't POSSIBLY be a correlation in these two statements.

 
i'd put my money on the issue being the coupler in the snout. its an easy fix. just did this on my friends gtp (which used to be mine) with 135k. its much quieter now. definitely start here as its much cheaper and easier. iirc, $30 for the coupler at zzperformance plus new s/c oil. takes under an hour to do the job. there are write-ups on how to do it on clubgp.

I have a 97 GTP that was making a rattling noise coming from the supercharger. The wholes in the coupler expand with age and start to rattle after a while. Super easy fix and made the noise go away.
