yeah i would have gotten a much better psu, the one that you have is pretty bad. i would have gone with a seasonic 600W if i was in your position.

whats wrong with the aspire one?

Only thing that I don't think is respectable at all is the ASPIRE power supply. From my experience, anything that Aspire makes is automatically low quality. Their power supplies in particular are atrocious.

If you're going for a quiet computer, the only other problem I can see is the Raptor hard drive... I hear those are loud as hell.

Apart from those issues though, you've got a hell of a computer.

Edit: Saw the new power supply... not really sure. I haven't heard anything about XION.

That's an awefully nice pc to be using an aspire psu with. If you were looking for something decently priced you could go with a nice Xclio one.

And whats the worst that could happen? Could i ruin some of my parts because of the PSU? Or will it just die and ill need to replace it? I mean if some of my parts are gonna get messed up then yeah ill shell out and extra $100

weird, i thought atx 2.01 spec'd max 20a on the 12v dual rails 😕

its hard to read the fine print on the label of the psu from the newegg pic but i'd look to see what the max 12v's combined are.

and yes, a psu gone bad can have dire consequences on your parts, including taking them out if she blows.

i have no experience with xion but personally i'd either do alot more research into them or buy a more respected brand like fortron, antec, enermax or if you have the $$ seasonic, pcp$c.

A bad psu can just die and not cause any harm to the rest of your components, or it can take your entire computer with it. I had one that took out my mobo, but nothing else.

Your parts could get messed up, but the problem I had for a long time with an ASPIRE PSU (I learned the hard way) was that every time I ran a 3D game, my computer would freeze in around 10 minutes... replaced the PSU and the problem went away. Aspire is complete ******.

.

And that means.. what? the PSU is too big? Ok, if it can mess up other parts, screw the money, what do i get?

Seasonic 4tw. I just picked up a 600W Seasonic. She's absolutely outstanding. Easily the best PSU on the market IMO. The drawback for super quality of course is cost.
