so i buy an oem visiontek geforce 3 ti200 from micropro.com... i receive a BROKEN (the little capacitor/transistor thingy with a 47[4.7 to the left of top heat sync] on it was broken off).
the box it came in was a retail box that was shrunk wrapped by a non professional shrink wrappping machine. the box was perfectly fine, but the card the static bag had rips in it..i notice its jingling, it opens, and the 4.7copper coil thing falls out. so i call up the second i realize its broken, its closed, so the following day i call up, and he says hes putting a claim with fed ex and they will call me. ive called him every day since then, 5 days(sans weekend), and im stil getting the run around "im filing with fed ex" "fed ex will be out there to pick it up" but nothign so far...
so..my theory is that he had a broken OEM card which he couldnt return, so he swaps it with a retail one, sends out the working oem to someone else, sends me the broken card in a retail box, then puts me off till i am no longer under his warranty, then hes goning to tell me to take it up with the manufacturer:|.. well its just a theory
so basically..does it sound like he swapped out the cards..i though oem was in a white box without upc (as stated on his site)?
and if it comes down to it...do you think a soldering noob would be able to solder the thing back on? its just two spots, relativly big.
in the mean time..i have already bought a new card from cirtuit city..i just couldnt handle the wait with max payne and rtcw on my hd..my voodoo 3 just wasnt cuttin it
