Whats an LNB dish for

Looking into getting sat and curious what the diff between LNB and non LNB dish is. I searched google for a min, but feeling lazy and coudn't find it

Isn't the LNB the thing that does the Receiving/? so a non-lnb dish, would be a jello mold.


LNB (Low Noise Blocker)
The LNB is the component located at the end of the arm projecting from the satellite dish. It converts the Ku-band signal beamed from the satellite to a 3.7 - 4.2GHz signal, then filters out low-end frequencies and amplifies the high-frequency signal before sending it to the LNB's coaxial output(s). Satellite service providers (such as DIRECTV and EchoStar) have satellites in multiple orbital positions, and a separate LNB is needed to access each satellite position.

I think LNB is for digital dishes like DTV or Dishnetwork. A non-lnb is the big ones... (BUD?)

ahh figured it out the it said dual LNB and the others never mentioned anything thing about LNB, but I guess ther just single LNB THanks for the info

why do you need separate lnb for each receiver?
