other aviation ones off the top of my head--VOR, ADF, DME, NDB, ILS, LDA, SDF, MLS, RAIM, DH, MDA, NOTAM, TAF, CAVU, VASI, PAPI, ALS, REIL, CTAF

You think there are that many users here who don't play MS flight sim? You'd get to know almost all of the above fairly well.

(Adding to that list off the top of my head - TACAN, VFR, IFR)

TACAN - Tactical Aerospace Navigation
VFR - visual flight rule
IFR - Insrument Flight Rule

IADS - integrated air defense system
PARC - pacific alaskan range complex
FDIO - Flight data input output system

This is fun :)

I'm sure some people here know it, but it's still a fun sounding one. Surprisingly, a lot of people who know what they ARE don't know what it stands for:

PAR - precision approach radar

I did a PAR approach at Los Alamitos this week, it was totally fun!

I love working on PAR's! You'd be pretty shocked to see how sparse the indiciator is though, "left of course, above glideslope" :)

You fly civilian props?

I've got to have at least a hundred Bloomberg symbols in my head, but I don't bother recalling them out of the blue. That, and I'm so sick of the bloody things that i'd rather just forget them.
