What's a typical overclock maximum for the X2 3800+

I'm curius to know what kind of overclocks are typical for the Windsor 3800+ X2 processor. I haven't tried anything over 1.45 volts because I feel as though this processor is definatly fast enough at 2.6GHZ and I don't want to lower the life of this cpu too much. I'm just curius to know some of the results some people are getting.

Most hit 2.4-2.6 with ease. I stopped at 2.6, as my memory is somewhat slow (1GB dimms) and getting the right HTT and memory ratio and voltage was more trouble than it was worth, considering I paid for a 1.8Ghz CPU. :)

If I pumped up the voltage to 1.55 volts, would that be a danger? I've seen other people do it with the chip, but all chips are diffrent right?

People are getting as high as 3.0 Ghz, with 2.6-2.8 Ghz being the norm for the newer 3800's.

1.55v is pretty high for a 3800+ with a stock vcore of 1.35v. I wouldn't go past 1.48v unless you're using heavy-duty cooling (good water or better).

I woudl stay within the 10% rule...means max vcore I would use is 1.54v actual....Most should do 2.6ghz...After that the HTT can get high for certain boards....

I have an older 3800+ and my wall is right at 2.6...but It requires more voltage then I care to pump into it. Newer ones should hit 2.6~2.8 on a good board.

I see similar results with my s939 3800+....mine is currently running at 2.6Ghz with 1.45v. Bumping the voltages up to 1.50 - 1.52v make it stable around 2.65Ghz, but 2.7Ghz seems a no go even at 1.55v.

I have 4 of them. Running from stock (no ocing an sff) to 2.5. I think my motherboard is stopping 2 from getting pas 2.3, but I would say based on my experience 2.5. More than that is luck.

Early Toledo core: 1.55v, 2.7Ghz, 45degC at load, zalman 9500 cooler. Stable, I ran memtest, prime95, and superpi for hours.

My Windsor sits at 2.4GHz 1.375V 33C Idle 50C orthos Load. With 1.525V I get 2.6GHz but load temps were too high for my liking even though they are completely safe.
