Put him in a ziplock bag and put him in the freezer. If he's a tropical fish he'll likely die quickly and painlessly (or well... relatively painlessly?).

yes, put the fish into a small container of aquarium water and place the container in the freezer

as the temp drops, the fish slowly lowers its metabolism and dies. that is how i do it also

I fish a lot and there are lots of fish here on the ocean that can survive for hours out of water. The best way I dispatch em is by stabbing their brain with a sharp knife.

Just hold them flat against the ground and use a long thin knife to kill em quickly. I bleed the fish most of the time also since sharks and other fish tend to produce urea in the bloodstream that totally kills the flavor of the meat.

Agreed... This will slow down their system and they will eventually pass...

About as humane as you can get.

yes. for death panelty, lets freeze ppl to death, it must be the most humane way of killing one

I got great pleasure out of taking a salt water fish out of the tank and putting him a big bowl of fresh water.

take that you little bastard!

as far as humane, put him in the freezer.

Some guys I fish with filet the fish while its still alive. For example when you catch a shark, it releases urea into the bloodstream when its stressed during the fight. In order to make sure that the meat doesn't get tainted further, as soon as the leppie shark is landed, its meat is sliced off on both sides with the shark still twitching.
