I'm heading to the City of Sin on July 4 and gonna be there for 4 nights. I was going to catch that Sigfried and Roy animal act but I just checked out the price and it's $150!!! Ouch... anyone have any other recommendations, on shows or just other stuff to do in Vegas? Keep in mind I'm 24 and I don't dig cheezy lounge acts or Elvis impersonators ;)

I'm all about Cirque du Soleil. The "O" Show @ Bellagio is awesome! Check it out.

Is it as easy to find cheap hotel rooms as they say?

I'm about ten hours from Vegas, I'm thinking about checking it out for a couple days when I take my vacation.

If you want magic shows, there's Lance Burton. The 'O' and Mystere are also good shows from what I hear. I usually go there and just enjoy the sites. There's enough stuff there go walk through that I hardly go to a show. Don't they have the Lord of Dance there as well? I wouldn't go watch that but I think it's there.

Go here....

Xerox: There are some good deals if you don't mind staying in an older place. I usually try staying at the Imperial Palace or MGM Grand Emerald Tower. Rooms typically go for under $70. Just check around.

Typically on weekends without conventions it's cheaper and more availability. Also more expensive days are friday and saturday. Try and avoid these days if possible because the usually require a 2 night stay min.

Yeah, I checked, and I found a couple places with 39.95 room rates. Not too shabby.

the only cheap thing i know of is the free circus show at circus circus, the fire show at the mirage, and the treasure island show. there's also the water show at bellagio. these are all just around 15 minutes tho and it's outside (cept for the circus). but u get what u pay for! :)

One of the best free things is the Car collection at the Imperial Palace when you get to your hotel pick up some of the free books in the what to do racks and you will find a cupon for a free fun book at Imperial Palace in the fun book there is free tickets to the car display. Go to Cesars Palace and see the talking statues and the little show at the race to atlantis ride. Check at the Union Plaza for the show usually they are very good and are around 10 bucks, also good free lounge acts there also.

can anybody give me a good idea of where they stayed and how much it cost? I would like to pay around $40-50 a night but don't want to stay at a dump.

thanks...

Lance Burton Magic show is pretty cool and decently priced (buy tickets early - can do it by phone). I think Cirque du Soleil's "O" is pretty expensive. Check out their other show,
Mystere" at Treasure Island. It's reasonably priced.

I'm gonna be down in vegas that weekend, too. I'm going to a friends bachelor party. Though I'm not sure what kind of shows we will see.

There are LOTS of comedy clubs in Vegas. Much more entertaining and much cheaper than Seigfried and Roy.

With a motto, "Where the Customer Always Comes First", I'd say The Desert Ranch and Brothel is the way to go.

If you know somebody who gambles a lot, then you can get free rooms. My aunt does a ton of gambling and she gets free rooms for everyone in the family. Free food and all that. Last time we stayed in Circus Circus. When we went to Laughlin, we stayed in the Flamingo Hilton with free room service. Was great. Too bad the grownups lose enough money to pay for it anyways. For me though, its great cuzz everything is free.
