What's a good winamp like program for Linux?

I've tried a few from google searching and they all suck. The only one that's tolerable is quod libet, but it's very weird when I try to add anything to it. If I try to add music from another folder than it's default, all hell breaks loose, often the entire library just clears and can't be readded, then when I reopen it, half the stuff is there, half is not... it's just weird like that.

Is there something that is more like winamp? Drag and drop perhaps? Though most things in Linux don't seem to have any kind of drag and drop so that might be asking for too much. But at least something that allows me to easily add folders to generate a library.

Would winamp run through wine?

I like DeaDBeef. I tried almost all the players and settled on that. The interface isn't really like Winamp though. Just go through the players and see what you like.

If you want something very similar to winamp then checkout xmms. I have no idea if it's still being developed or not though.

xmms is dead. I think audacious came out of it's ashes though. I know that has been going strong.

Guayadeque fanboi here, although I mostly use Banshee on machines with mono support (I refuse to let it beat me, LoL!)

Really, nothing is equivalent to Winamp, on any platform... even winders.

Guayadeque seems good so far. Still early to tell as far as performance goes but I like the interface.
Yeah, I like Guayadeque just fine.

The GUI allows a modicum of customization. That is, you can move stuff around, resize things, etc.

When I add music to it, all I do is make a new child (folder) in the "Music" folder, and the album is there (covers and all), the next time I open Guayadeque, e.g. no messing around. ;)

BTW, in case anybody cares: That's Ubu 13.04 Alpha / Gnome-shell 3.7.2

Heh, with Clementine I do the same, but I can have it running and it'll automatically add the music. ;)

One thing I've been noticing with Guayadeque is it takes FOREVER to load. I keep forgetting to keep it paused instead of closing it when I go to bed. A good couple minutes before it's ready to use. Is it trying to load every track into ram or something?

I really like Nightingale. After songbird decided to drop Linux support, some devs took up the Linux port. It's pretty sweet in my opinion.
