What's a good way to end a quick phone call without sounding rude?

For instance,

In a business scenario, there is somebody you have to call several times a day. They could be a supervisor or an employee, etc. You just need to know one thing, say, a measurement of something. Or something they know of the top of their head. Anyways, you call, you ask, they say, then what," ok, thanks, thats all i needed?" I always feel obligated to talk a little bit before I hang up, but I never do, I always just say thanks, etc. then hang up quickly.

Saying "Thanks" then just hang up is fine...

I would probably get annoyed if you call that often and always talk for "a bit"...

"Hey, I gotta run for now"
or
"I've got to get going"

is a polite way of saying "I'm done now, bye" 🙂

The least you could do would be to say "Have a nice afternoon" - "Talk to you later"

"Sounds great Bill. Zip it up and zip it OUT!"

"Uh, okay Dave, zipideedoodah!"

🙂

first call: hey bob, how's it going? <his response> good, i'm glad everythings going well for you... quick question <your question> alright, thanks, bye

second+ call: hey bob, another question <insert question> kthxbye

Just come to be known as annoying and you will never have that problem. Or find a way for BO to be transferred over the phone and don't use deodorant.
