Windows Media player crashes all the time for me. I need something else. Any suggestions?

Free is key :D

I use WMP classic. You already have it if you have XP, how's that for free? ;)

Program Files --> Windows Media Player --> mplayer2

edit: also has support for Real and Quicktime without the messy and bloated installs.

I find that for quick questions, no matter what the topic, ATOT is the place to post it. You normally get answers fast. Whether they are good though... :p

And I also like VLC.

VLC is a good "stand-alone" player. Plays everything out of the box, no setup, all codecs included.

On the other hand, I like MPC (Media Player Classic) for things that require plugins (like DVD's). With MPC I can use the Purevideo plugin+ffdshow+reclock+etc..., get it?
