Hi im currently looking at buying a USB wireless stick and was wondering what's a good one to buy. I have been looking at the D-Link Wireless N USB Adapter - DWA-140 & the Netgear WG111v2 but really need something to support Vista 64bit and will have strong signal strength . Been using the wireless on my Asus M/B and it's been giving me loads of drop outs which could be to do also with my network. Although my mac laptop is fine..

The Wireless router from Be is located in another bedroom about 15m away.

Thanks

ok im a little lost and a bit on track..

I have found that the D-link DWA-140 > RangeBooster N USB Adapter & DWA-130 > Wireless N USB Adapter are ok for 64bit.. but are a bit pricey in the UK..

as for the EDIMAX EW-7318USG IEEE 802.11b/g you recomended this looks good. It says it supports Vista but has no info regarding 64bit.?

saveski, did you bother to read any of the Newegg reviews for the EDIMAX EW-7318USG that JackMDS linked to? There are 77 of them presently, and there are at least a few that state this particular USB wireless adapter works very well with Vista 64-bit.

Here's just one of them:

Works like a charm with Vista 64

Pros: -Excellent signal strength despite numerous walls and distance (30 m) -Worked with Vista 64 with no problems -Stable connection, zero problems -Picks up 50% more neighbor's networks than my D-Link did!

Cons: *Nitpicking -USB cable should be longer -You'll need a little space for it to jut out if you don't use the cable.

Other Thoughts: Don't use the supplied disk, get drivers online. After hearing nightmares about getting a USB wireless adapter for Vista 64, I was really pleased that this relatively cheap product from an unknown company worked so smoothly. If you have Vista 64 and need a USB wireless adapter, THIS is the one you want.

Check out the others, as well.
