what's a good solution for a bench mat?

I'm looking for something to put on my bench when I'm working on phones so the screens and cases don't get scratched. It would have to be a softer surface but so soft that it makes it harder to work on the devices.

I would need something available in larger sizes. Probably 3'x6'.

Any suggestions?

Go to craft store

Buy some sheet felt.

Pick up a white board and some spray 77 contact cement.

Cut board to size, spray board, attach felt, trim, done.

I recommend something disposable like paper tablecloth material (comes in a roll). That way you can easily replace it in seconds. The workbench isn't what scratches phones...it's whatever is on the workbench....dust, particles, small screws, etc....

Another approach is getting a roll of saran wrap or cling wrap to protect each phone or buy a single piece of foam and cut into 1 foot square pieces to rest each screen on so you only have keep that space clean when the phone is flipped on its screen.

Same thing they put jewelry on?
