But I'm not sure if an Avalon is double din...What year is it? I might be able to save you some frustrations.

What? People still use CDs? USB with Flash drives FTW.
I recently replaced my factory deck with one that has USB, works great with my iPod. I had been using those cassette adapters (which are total junk by the way, even the more expensive ones didn't last more than a few months).

3100 for sure then. That will look pretty!

I would pick up the bluetooth adapter too, but that's just me.

I am disappointed hu don't offer Zune support. I am thinking of picking up a 30 gig ipod just to leave in the vehicle at all times or get a big flash drive.

I never had to deal with Zune support...doesn't it just see it as removable media? I would go with a flash drive though.

Yeah I think USB decks will support any MTP compatible player (which is basically all MP3 players, except for proprietary devices like iPod).

Just installed the F700BT a couple weeks ago. Nice system. The touchscreen can be finicky though. Certain button locations (especially the upper right corner) are really hard to hit. Also, the unit is slow... slow to boot up, and slow to react to inputs. But honestly it has so many features I love it anyway.

The P8000BT might be a good choice if you don't care about the big screen. Not as flashy but cheaper, with physical controls, and not as attractive to potential thieves.

One thing about the F700BT - make sure you either perform a hardware bypass or hook up the handbrake cable properly. My brother didn't do either and now the unit thinks I'm never parked and thus it never enables certain features. Once I see my brother again this coming weekend, I'll get that fixed and finally have a fully functional head unit!

For more information on them look at avic411.com. Lots of helpful forums there.

That's all I wanted it for. My big problem is that now I have the car audio bug :/

look into Hertz speakers. I got a 3way HSK for half the price of my 2 way focals and they blow the focals out of the water.

He bought a $100 deck. Doubt he's looking to spend that much for some hertz. I like car audio and I thought my $200 focals were pretty expensive already.

Yep. I did car audio for too long to car anymore. After a while, $75 6.5's sound just like $250 ones...except that I can listen to them without my ears ringing for 2 hours.

Hearing loss FTL!

Most people can't even discern the difference between a quality ripped 128kbps mp3 and a cd and it's even going to be harder to in a car or portable environment. On some songs I can tell the difference but in these types of environments I'd rather go for quantity and conveinence with a little loss in SQ than lug around a bunch of CDs with better SQ. In a quiet home environment then yes, I would definitely prefer the source with the better SQ.
