What's a good set of screwdrivers?

Over the past ten years I had one little six piece magnetic/carbon(or something hard) tipped screwdriver set that my brother bought me for my birthday and has finally seen its day and needs to be replaced.🙁
You know the drill. I want it to be something I can carry in my pocket, is quality built so it will last, is magnetized(for obvious reasons) and is thin enough to get in those tight spaces but not so skinny that I can't get a grip on it.

Anyone have computer hand tools they swear by?
What's the best Phillips screwdriver in the world for a comp-tech?:sun:
 
I dunno jack about 'nice' screwdrivers, but you can always stick a powerful magnet onto a regular screw driver for that added edge. I know newegg and other sites offer computer tool kits for varying prices, but I have no experience with them. Sorry
 
For PC work, I love a Screwdriver Like This.
Home Depot had one similar around Christmas for about $3.00.
The best $3.00 I ever spent on a tool! :thumbsup::laugh:

I'm looking at mine right now 😀

And if you snoop around you can find an El Cheapo 30-piece accessory set with an adapter and small sockets, square drives, hex heads, torx bits, etc.
 
The reason I like the 4 in 1 is that it's a single tool.
No other parts to keep track of and pack around... A single tool.

There's not much that I can't do with this screwdriver and bent-nose pliers.

my preference goes toward more of a kit approach, where i throw several units in a general tool bag, and have them in my car or with me at home. mine also get put to some heavier use beyond computers, so i don't mind the extra money.

Apollo Mr 7 Hands. Works decent as a PC screwdriver. The only thing is that I had to resort to a longer screwdriver when installing a heatsink in a tight case one time. Bought it on sale for about $9 thought most places seem to sell it for $15 right now.
 
I like my Wiha Microfinish #2 Phillips. German-made, heavy, very long-lasting. Wiha also makes a magnetizer/demagnatizer thingie.
 
For pocket carry, you can't beat a classic Leatherman (the older core models are my favorite)

For computer work, I keep around one of these and my Leatherman. You might want to add a couple torx drivers around too

I'd never heard of Wiha. Looks like they have some quality stuff. I may pick up one of these.

Another recommendation for Wiha tools. I have a set of precision drivers and I love them. 🙂
 
I work on a lot of laptops (they work for PC too) and this is by far the most versatile set I've ever used. Lifetime warranty.

Run about $4 - $7 each depending on where you buy em (i got mine at home depot $6). Ive replaced them once in 6 years and thats only because they got rusty somehow, home depot swapped em without a question asked.
 
IMO the most useful screwdriver for a computer tech has a magnetized Phillips #2 head.

My personal favorite is the house brand from Menards with the long shaft (around 14"). It is well balanced and can reach difficult places. If I were to choose a single tool to help assemble a computer from scratch and it can't be a multi-tool, I'd choose this tool. Tip is magnetized and it runs just over $3.

I tend to not like "kits" or anything with changeable bits.

Single most important tool.
I'm trying to find one of those on ebay now as well.

You can't find them locally? If you can't get one, I can snag one for you and ship it. Your cost would be the cost of the tool, cost of shipping and cost for Paypal fees.
