i didnt do well on my SAT's

luckily PSU didnt care. I got around 800 or so.. I had a headache that day and couldnt concentrate. My grades showed what kind of student I was.. not a stupid test. I even had early admission.

1100 to get into a good state university...more if you are out of state, less if your state gives really high priority to in state students (like psu where i go you can get in with a 1020 if your grades are good enough)...grades factor alot too

Hm . . . depends on which state university . . .

if you're applying to Berkeley or UCLA . . . 1300+ is a safe bet.

I would think SAT II (plus grades) matter more now than SAT does/did, or at least that is what I've been told by admissions people of universities.

Nowadays, I would say 12-1300, but that's coming from a Californian applying to UCs. For UCLA & Berkeley, 1400+ gives you a much better chance, although I suppose 1300+ is definitely good enough if your grades are good.

And it's true that SAT IIs are very important, but they are also very easy.

of uta... a 1100-1200 should get you in.... it's a nice campus too... and if you love arcades... that is a place to go... like 5 arcades in walkin distance.... SAT sucks though... and i know people you have gotten 1200's with hangovers... and i've never taken that test w/ more that 3 hours of sleep...

depends on what gpa you have

utexas is trying to reduce its class size so it is marginally tougher than it has been in the past

depends on the college & intended major...I got a 1300 and had a GPA of 3.5 in high school (which is pretty mediocre these days, since there's SOOOOOO much competition out there), and I got into the state college of my choice (Rutgers College of Engineering)..

Now its time for me to find a job, but I haven't even typed up my resume yet :(:)

Plus they get you out of inconvenient "conflicts" on the other side of the world. Or even out of the military if you want.

or both.. I thing gw did okay in his SATs... around 1200 (if i remember correctly), but this would have been before all that "re-centering" crap they did recently to make today's youth look not quite as stupid as they are.

If you're in the top 10% of your class, you'll be automatically admitted under Texas law. Otherwise it depends on what school/college of the university you are applying to. 1200 is probably safe if you apply on time.

When did they "re-center" and how much of a difference does it make? Just curious.
