I'm looking to sell my old system and build a new one from scratch. What's a good asking price for this system? And where should I sell it? Local classifieds? eBay?

Complete computer setup -- CPU, monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Dell E521 featuring upgrades:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.0 gHz
2 GB DDR2-800 RAM
Nvidia geForce 8600 GT 128-bit 256 MB video card
160 GB hard drive
16X DVD-R drive
15-in-1 media card reader
stock cooling and psu

Includes:
Dell keyboard
Dell wheel mouse
Dell 19-inch square display up to 1280X1024 and 75 Hz
Dell warranty service through Jan. 2010

eBay would probably be the quickest and easiest solution, but you're going to have to do your own research on how you much you want to sell it for.

If you're not able to calculate a reasonable asking price nor know where to sell it...
You should keep your current rig and forget about building a new one.

BTW, Like he said... No price checks.

you could get prob 50 bucks from some schmuck on craigs list. If not just trash it, its garbage now a days.

I wouldn't say garbage, people would probably pay upwards of $100 to have another decent functional computer in their home.

😕

That's not a bad little system, especially if it has the better PSU with the 6pin. Could make for a very good budget gaming system for someone who couldn't afford something better.

And make sure you read that first post at the top of that forum. You know, the one with all the rules & guidelines you have to follow before posting stuff for sale here. Otherwise, you will probably make a mistake and get your FS post locked by a ruthless admin (who is looking out for the best interest of the rest of us schmucks around here).
