What's a good program for burining d/l-ed .iso files?

I would use Nero for everything but it doesn't like .iso files. Cdrwin, for some reason, reboots my machine every single time I try to run it. So I was wondering what everyone uses to burn their iso images.

I personally prefer Adaptec EasyCD Creator 4 or 5 Platinum for ISO burning. Just make sure you auto-associate ISO files with EasyCD Creator, then all you have to do is double-click on the ISO file in an explorer shell. I made the mistake of actually dragging the ISO file into the burning menu thinking it would know to burn the image, not the ISO file 🙂.

The Adaptec versions I've used in the past would not work with Nero on the same machine. Do you have both running, or have you tried both at the same time?

I have both Nero 5 and EasyCD Creator 5 running on the same machine. I know there was a problem with the EasyCD Creator software, it disables some of the registry entries that are necessary for ROM devices, but there is a string fix for that somewhere. Perhaps you thought Nero didn't work because of the problem with EasyCD Creator. Never heard of that conflict before.

What type of image files does Nero use again? They're *.img files right? Might have some luck getting converters from ISO to IMG, I'm not totally sure though 🙂.

I've had no problems burining ISO's with Nero, it's a good program.

for iso's, i use adaptec also. just associate, double click, and burn.

Every time I try to open an .iso file in Nero 5 it gives me an "unkown format" error. How are you guys doing it?

With the newer versions of Nero you do it as follows... The standard method - Start Nero click File click Burn Image. Browse to the location of the image, doubleclick and (click burn)
With the Wizard -
(1) Start Nero with the Wizard and make sure the following selections are checked
(2) Compile a new CD (click next)
(3) Other CD Formats (click next)
(4) Create a CD from an image file (click next)
(5) You're about to burn a CD image file (click finish)
(6) Browse to the location of the image file doubleclick and (click burn)

This is with version 5.5.5.1 I have burned many images with Nero and never had a problem.
