I need a couple of everyday shirts to wear to work. Any place I can get something for reasonable price? I checked out Macy's but their stuff is too fancy (like something you'd wear with a suit) and too expensive. Gap is too expensive. Any other place I'm missing? I just need something I can wear with khaki's. Which brings me to my second question - what color shirt is one supposed to wear with khaki pants?

Express had a sale a few weeks ago where they gave $20 off all shirts. I think most of their shirts ended up being around $25, great deal. I'm not sure if it's still going on. Also, I see you're in Connecticut, you could make a trip into manhattan and stock up at Century 21.

You can wear pretty much any color shirt with khakis.

$25 sounds like a great deal. I paid $50 for the one I'm wearing right now.

the truth as long as the khakis are the regular khaki-colored khakis and not black or navy or bone or any of those other colors.

You should definitely check out Century 21, $50 will get you Donna Karan or Hugo Boss shirts. Stuff like CK, DKNY, etc is usually $20-30.

Go to a J.C Penny's or Carson's or something. Usually you can find a sale at one of those stores and pick up some decent dress shirts for under $20. They won't last forever, but you get what you pay for.

Check the discount places like TJMaxx, Marshalls, Ross, etc.
You can find nice dress shirts for 10-30 dollars.

I prefer Van Heusen too and they are much less expensive than the $50-60 others are posting as good deals. I can usually find them in Filene's or Macy's on sale. I'm surrounded by computer geeks here so I don't need to look too nice, but it is supposed to be business casual. I buy Van Heusen or Arrow shirts, all under $30 and they are fine.
