Just a cut of meat, like 10-20lbs.

Looking to spend at most $50 shipped.

Live in Illinois, so going to a farm isn't out of the question. I may even go to a farm since I'm going to go to UIUC, and pick it up there, what is a good price to ask a farmer?

no online butcher shop?

I thought we told you already, 10lbs isn't bulk! Now if you go radiator sized or bigger, then you can talk wholesale prices.

Every now and again it is raised from the dead by some faithful member of ATOT. The only way to escape the Bulk Beef thread is to escape ATOT itself.

Need 3 pounds. Any ideas?

5lb. block FTW! (Send the other 2 pounds to me if you're that worried about it)

I need a block of bulk beef, about radiator size.

You need to read the thread. So far an alternator or a transfer case are acceptable bulk sizes. Radiators don't really get a mention and for good reason. They are not bulk.

Did the op ever get beef? I don't care if he got bulk or online or whatever, just curious did he eventually get to eat some beef. By my estimate, from the start of this thread to now, I have eaten over 20lb of beef (mostly striploin, with some rib steak and tenderloin mixed in). I think it's safe to call it bulk.

buy a cow. take a section out of it. let it graze. eat another section while the previous section is re-growing

For what it's worth, you would have to spend more on gas, than the price of the beef in the market, to find a farm where you could buy beef directly. Because very few, if any, farmers slaughter their own cows. The same is true of ranchers, where most beef cattle are raised. It doesn't help you any, but there is a company local to me, that sells in bulk at a discount, but I doubt that they ship nationally, and even if they did, I don't think that they deal in such small quantities. The only thing that I recall seeing online, is some places where you can buy premium cut steaks, but I have never tried them.
