One of my college professors was also a 4-H advisor, taught many ag-related classes, and his daughter bred pigs.
He used to waste half the class talking about the trials and tribulations of pig breeding...how difficult it was to get GOOD semen, how difficult it was to keep it viable until it was "implanted," and how often he got bit/kicked by the sow as he was "doing the deed."

I'm still not quite sure why anyone would need "bulk pig semen" though.
