what's a good mic for dictation?

I'm wondering if people in here use dictation (voice recognition) software to write, or if you can point me to a quality mic. I'm also guessing the quality of the sound card matters, and would there be interference from internal fans affecting the signal, i.e., would a quiter system work better for dictation. Also if anyone has had any good/bad experiences with software i'd like to hear them. I know office XP has the feature, I haven't tried any others.

I use voice recognition software (Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred) and get excellent results.

The key is to use a good digital michrophone.

I use Plantronics DSP series headsets (one for work and one for home) and they are awsome.
