Just wondering what a good list of bench's are to run before and after I upgrade my box to Sandybridge. It seems like game bench's aren't as easy as they once were. I guess they arent including them much any more. Just trying to see what everyone is using now, games and otherwise. Thanks!

A lot of people use a benchmark called Heaven.

Which also has another name by UniGene:

Its not that much of a cpu tester tho.. more of a gpu tester.

I think OP means processor benchmarks. Well pc mark seems the standard one for all around everyday app benching. then there's these prime calculation benchmarks that tests raw speed. x264 encoding has a benchmark out there that's very good as well for measuring multithreaded performance.

I use these benchmarks:

Aida64 (Formely known as Everest Ultimate Edition)
3DMark Vantage
PC Mark Vantage
3DMark 2011
Heaven Demo

Aida64 is for CPU and memory benchmarks, PCMark is an all round system test and the rest are mostly GPU related with some CPU tests thrown in.

I am also looking for benchmarking software, but I am looking for benchmarks that will test READ WORLD every day use app performance. Also, I am looking for software that will compare my CPU results to other CPUs on the market. Anything like this out there?

According to Cinebench, I am doing slightly better overclocked, than an e7500 at stock which still costs $125 on newegg! My CPU costs more like $50. The question is, how does the cinebench benchmark relate to everyday PC use?

CINEBENCH R10
