Im trying to help my financially retarded mother manage her credit card so she doesnt waste so much money, although im not really sure she cares. Either way, i like playing around with finances for some odd reason. Anyway, I think her current rate is 9.24%. I was thinking if it was high i would just have her call in and ask them to lower it/get a new card.

Thank ye.

Don't worry. It'll be in the 20s in no time unless it's fixed Mines at 15 fixed but I had no credit when I got it. Really doesn't matter since I don't keep a balance.

who cares what it starts at? the CC company is going to jack it to %33 as soon as they can.

and thinking 9% at this time is high is funny,.

9.24% is good...

To help her not waste money, only BUY what she can pay off every month. Don't buy $3k of crap, and only pay $200. Pay the statement balance in full. Otherwise, you'll get dinged with interest, and that's just throwing money away.
