I'm in the same position...I'd say wait till you see the 19-20 inch LCDs with a 16 ms response time. They should coming out soon. If you're willing to go smaller you can get the Hitach CML174 but its only 17inches.

I hate CS, but it would probably look good on my 33" monitor. 😀

Looks like the cat is about to jump out of the window. Better watch it.

lol there's a screen. One time though I let her out and one of the neighbors let her in and she climbed from his 3rd story porch to the roof so I came home one day and she was meowing at me from on high. Stupid cat.

Not to mention that you'd need an UBER UBER UBER powerful vid card to run games at some of those native resolutions. I mean - the 19"-21" LCDs force you to play games under 1280x1024 - I mean, imagine what you'd need for Doom3 / HL2...

nice crt. you want to see as many shades of dark colors as possible. telling those ct's from terrorists.. gah!

umm no. please don't talk about lcds if you don't own one. i have a 17" and native resolution is 1280x1024. 19" and 21" are higher. and lcds are perfect for gaming. granted, you're not going to get the 1600x1200 but lcds have beautiful color and images. ghosting is a thing of the past, so don't worry about that. any good quality lcd that's less than 2 years old will fit your needs just fine. and besides, if you play more current games, your vid card isn't going to be able to pump out decent frame rates at 1600x1200 anyway. so what's the friggin point?

um, i don't think so, even at 16ms lcds for gaming aren't quite there. they simply are good enough to settle for if your bent on getting a costly lcd.

and yea, some people do like the ability to drop resolutions to stretch out the life of a video card. you "can" on an lcd, but its just not cool. sure if you got money to burn you wouldn't care at all, just upgrade the second the framerates drop below perfection😛 he's a cs freak, meaning he probably likes extreme framerates when he plays. the fact is you can get 2 perfectly good crt 19" for the price of 1 decent 16ms 18" lcd.

the best cs players use 640x480 or 800x600 when they play...

I play CS with my LCD. You should stick with a CRT. I'm getting another CRT monitor just to play games.
