What's a good, freeware application for copying/verifying data from one external HDD to another?

Hi guys,

I've been noticing some weird corruptions in some files, recently... I have three portable (non-powered) HDDs, and I use them to carry my digicam pictures and video files... the problem is that one of them seems to have errors... some pictures on it are scrambled, like a bad download corruption.

Is there a good, PROVEN, reliable file copier and checker available for free in XP?

I've just acquired a large (1 TB) external HDD, and I would like to consolidate all my picture files on it - without additional errors.

Until recently, I've been using simple "drag'n'drop", but since I'm going to move about 500 GB of files, I'd rather not go through the experience of discovering that some of those irreplaceable files got corrupted...

thanks in advance!

Ok, folks, based on these recommendations, as well as a Lifehacker post I came across during my search, I'm giving Teracopy a go...

Thanks!
